Players To Watch in Livingston County, NY

Brian LoPresto is a Buffalo ex-pat with loads of experience in the game. As a high school coach south of Rochester, he’s volunteered a report on some players to watch just outside Erie & Niagara County.

 

1. Mo Carlon, Geneseo: junior, forward

Mo led the Geneseo Blue Devils to the Section V Class C Championship in 2011. He was selected All-Greater Rochester 1st team in 2011. Mo scored 17 goals with 18 assists for the Blue Devils, who look to be in great position to defend their Class C title.

2. Andrew Freeman, Livonia: sophomore, defender

Andrew anchored a very stingy Bulldog defense that helped Livonia to the Section V Class B championship game. at 6′ 1″ and 200 pounds, he is a force on Livonia’s back line. Andrew provides not not only size, but excellent speed and footwork.

3. Mitchell Kinney, Livonia: senior, midfielder

Mitchell transferred from Honeoye Falls -Lima midway through the 2011-2012 school year, so this will be his first season with the Bulldogs. Mitchell anchored the HFL midfield, leading the Cougars to a 12-4-1 record and Section V Class Semi-Finals, where the Cougars lost to eventual State Final Four finalist Brighton

4. Matt Sancilio, Avon: senior, defender

Matt is a leader on and off the field. Not only team captain but also ranks No. 2 in his class academically amongst other honors. Matt helped lead the Braves to their second consecutive Livingston County Division 2 Crown with a 11-5-2 record. He was selected as Livingston County Division 2 player of the year and also an All-Greater Rochester Honorable Mention selection.

5. Andy Graves, Dansville: senior, defender

Andy is Dansville’s returning 2011 Livingston County All-Star.

6. Mike Mauro, Hornell: junior, defender

7. Sean Olin, Perry: junior, defender

8. Jacob Cook, Geneseo: junior, goalkeeper

9. Tyler Brown, Way-Co: senior, forward
